| CNC plasma is not something out of a science fiction film; it is rather a natural state of matter. Plasma technology has been around for decades, but has seen massive improvements in most recent decades. Now more affordable and versatile than ever before, CNC plasma is a technology that is used in almost every manufacturing plant in the US today. | |

CNC PlasmaCNC plasma is not some futuristic product; it is rather just a natural state of matter, although not that often on earth. CNC plasma is used in almost every modern day manufacturing plant to ensure accurate manufacturing and increase production output. What is CNC plasma? It's a technology that works from the three natural states of matter: solid, liquid and gas. Every element, dependent on its temperature, can be a solid, liquid or gas. Let's use water as an example. At its coldest temperature, water is solid (ice); at room temperature, a liquid (water) and at high temperatures it becomes a gas (boiling). Increase the high temperature even more and it eventually becomes plasma. Although plasma doesn't occur that often here on earth, it is a natural occurrence and is one of the components of lightening. This stage produces such intense high temperatures that the molecular excitement becomes an extremely powerful force. This force is what allows CNC plasma to cut through dense and rigid products that are normally not easily destructible, such as heavy metals and alloys. CNC plasma is an acronym for Computer Numerical Control plasma. Essentially, machines using CNC plasma technology are machines that run from computer programming specifications and cut and drill by using plasma. The program specs tell the machine where to cut and it does it precisely. As you can imagine, the computer specs and the plasma make for flexibility in creating many different shapes and sizes. Because CNC plasma machines are driven by programming, it can be quickly "changed-over" to produce another piece. Just change the set of specifications and it will produce a different piece. It's common for a CNC drilling machine to have multiple sets of specs to output different work-pieces based on demand. With precise output and flexibility, CNC plasma will continue to be a manufacturing standard. |
